a few new paintings
so I was able to finish a few paintings for the Summer Art market this last week, and i did pretty well all in all. I think this first painting is the best painting i have ever done- it sold within an hour! the first 2 are a lot bigger than they look- 2ft by3ft- i love working that big- i think its how i will try and work for a while...

i loved this painting also, it sold today to a great couple:

I had finished this painting a couple of days before we found out about my moms' cancer- i don't really want to part with it anytime soon ( she had given me the canvas after finding it in her alley last summer) so i priced it way too high and will keep it up in my wall for a while. I loved my mom a whole lot and will miss her a bunch.

The other two paintings from last week which sold:

i love that this one sold- i didn't think she had a chance!

and heres a drawing i thought would be a good threadless tee- i dont know if it would, but i like the drawing quite a lot:

Tonight with words....
When I first came up with the outline for Tonight it had accompanying text, but I think that it is stronger wordless. I like the idea of a child "reading" the image for the story- it seems to jibe with the story itself which is a celebration of exploration of the unknown.
I've had a few requests to see the text so I made this mock up for anyone who is interested. My vision of it is that the text would be hand painted on the pages themselves, in a handwriting that fits a little better than the font I used on these images...
Please let me know what you think!

My first kid's book!!!!
All in all, I'm pretty proud of it. These photos have lost a little bit of details that the paintings have, mostly in the very light areas- the faces of the moon in particular... But please let me know what you think!!

kid's shirts!
Do you want your beautifull brilliant child to be disliked, scorned, mocked, shunned, perhaps even killed because they are sporting the dudliest of duds?
NO! Fucking of course you dont! thats why you should send me 22.50$, your address, and whether your precious miracle wears a size 2, 4, or 6.
also, a size 2 fits a very large cat quite well, but it's a little ghetto for your average cat sized cat.

Im busy working on my most ambitious thing ever, and might have some scans of it sometime soon, for those of yall who check in every so once in a while.

(we here at felixtannenbaum.com do not mean to endorse the beating of dogs, no matter how vicious and stupid they might be- however, we are big fans of the idea of keeping dangerous dogs on very short leashs- what do you think?)

Why doesn't my robot love me ? : a cautionary fable
So there's this comic book school up here in vermont, and they are giving away a scholarship and stuff and the application process is pretty much to submit a comic that stars a robot, a snowman, yourself and a peice of fruit, and here's my version of that:
