and now, a statement:
Just trying this out for size- if anybody has any suggestions i would love to hear them!
Felix Tannenbaum's latest work is interested in exploring
lessons; the lessons of art, the lessons of school, and, indeed, the
lessons of art school. He wonders how it is that the phrase "i'm going
to teach you a lesson" came to be such a violent and authoritative
thing to say, and hopes that any lessons he is able to teach are
gentler, funnier, and more pertinent to the daily realities of life
which school has done little to prepare us for. His paintings on
chalkboard are depictions of the sort of lessons he himself finds
interesting: lessons of lightness, laughter and sorrow. He hopes they
can help his viewer navigate the beauty, the perversity, the cruelty
and the joy of modern life.

I keep looking for the eraser that should be on the edge of the chalkboard. I can almost smell this picture.
